Radial Mapping tool settings
Setting | Description |
---|---|
From Points | Defines the baseline from points. |
From Line | Defines the baseline from existing linework. |
Requires Feature | Requires node features be present for a baseline from nodes or boundary features for a baseline from line. |
Horizontal Angle | Sets the angle counterclockwise from the baseline, or clockwise if (–) angle is entered. |
Radial Distance | Defines the distance along the angular ray. |
Vertical Angle | Specifies the angle located above or below a horizontal plane through the point of observation. The point of observation is the start point of the baseline. The vertical angle affects the actual computed radial distance. It can be visualized with a right angle triangle, where the radial distance is the hypotenuse and the base of the triangle is the actual computed distance y = rcosA ® = radial distance, A = vertical angle in degrees). For example, if the radial distance is 10.0 units and the vertical angle is 45 degrees, the actual distance is 10 cos 45 = 7.07. |
Radial Offset | Sets the offset orthogonal to the baseline. A minus sign in front of the setting places the point on the left of the baseline. |
